Frequently Bought Together
Finca El Pergamino Bourbon Washed is a sweet, floral, beautifully clean coffee from one of Panama's most talked-about new farms. In 2026, Finca El Pergamino took 2nd place in Geisha Washed at Best of Panama with 96.00 points, finishing ahead of Hacienda La Esmeralda. This 250g washed Bourbon comes from the same hands, the same volcanic soil in Bambito and the same careful picking — with wild berries, peach, citrus and chocolate in the cup, at a price you can enjoy every week.
Know the notes: sweet, floral, wild berries, citrus, peach, chocolate. Washed process, medium roast, 250g whole bean — grown in Bambito, Tierras Altas, by the family behind a 2026 Best of Panama podium lot.
A Washed Bourbon From Bambito, Tierras Altas
Bambito is a narrow, cool valley in the Tierras Altas district of Chiriquí, on the western slopes of the Barú volcano between Volcán and Cerro Punta. Cold nights, clean mountain water and deep volcanic soil slow the cherry down, and slow cherry means concentrated sugar and aroma. It is the same highland corridor that produces Panama's most celebrated Geisha lots.
Finca El Pergamino is owned and worked by producer Yaneth de Lucich and her family. It is a newer farm competing against century-old estates, and in 2026 it beat most of them.
Why Bourbon, and Why Washed
Bourbon is one of the great classic Arabica varieties, named after the Indian Ocean island of Bourbon (today Réunion). It is loved for natural sweetness, a round body and layered fruit — and many of the varieties grown across Latin America descend from it. In the washed process, the fruit and mucilage are removed before the beans dry, so the cup is clean and transparent. That clarity is what lets El Pergamino's florals, berries and stone fruit come through so distinctly, over a soft chocolate base.
El Pergamino Bourbon Washed Tasting Notes
Sweet and floral on the nose, then wild berries, bright citrus and ripe peach through the middle, finishing with smooth milk chocolate. Medium body, clean and balanced acidity, and a long, sweet finish. Elegant enough to sip black, round enough to enjoy every morning.

The Farm Behind It
Best of Panama is usually a contest between famous dynasties. In 2026, Yaneth de Lucich put Finca El Pergamino on the national podium in Geisha Washed with 96.00 points — a quarter point off first place, and ahead of Hacienda La Esmeralda. Judges cup blind, with no idea whose coffee is in front of them, so that result is the clearest signal there is about how this farm picks, ferments and dries. Their Bourbon gets the same treatment. Want to taste the competition lot itself? The El Pergamino Geisha Washed 250g is here too, and for a fruitier, sweeter daily cup from the same hillside, try the El Pergamino Catuai Natural 250g.
How to Brew El Pergamino Bourbon Washed
To get the most from the florals and fruit, brew it as pour-over: a medium-fine grind, a 1:16 ratio (about 15g coffee to 240g water) and filtered water at 200°F (93°C) in a V60 or Chemex. The medium roast and chocolate base make it versatile, too — it pulls a sweet, balanced espresso and works well in a flat white. Grind fresh right before brewing, and see our guide to brewing Panama coffee at home for ratios and timing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does El Pergamino Bourbon Washed taste like?
Sweet and floral up front, with wild berries, bright citrus and ripe peach through the middle, and a smooth milk chocolate finish. Medium body, clean and balanced acidity.
What is washed process coffee?
The cherry's fruit and mucilage are removed before the beans are dried, so nothing stands between you and the character of the bean. Washed coffees taste cleaner, brighter and more transparent than naturals.
What is Bourbon coffee?
Bourbon is one of the classic Arabica varieties, named after the Indian Ocean island of Bourbon (today Réunion). It is prized for its sweetness, round body and complex fruit, and many famous modern varieties descend from it.
Where does this coffee come from?
Finca El Pergamino in Bambito, in the Tierras Altas district of Chiriquí, Panama, between Volcán and Cerro Punta on the slopes of the Barú volcano. The farm is run by producer Yaneth de Lucich.
Is this the same farm that placed at Best of Panama 2026?
Yes. Finca El Pergamino took 2nd place in the Geisha Washed category at Best of Panama 2026 with 96.00 points, finishing ahead of Hacienda La Esmeralda. This Bourbon is a different lot from the same farm.
How should I brew it?
It shines as pour-over: medium-fine grind, 1:16 ratio (15g coffee to 240g water) and filtered water at 200°F (93°C) in a V60 or Chemex. The medium roast and chocolate base also make it a sweet, balanced espresso and a good match for milk.
How long does delivery take?
Delivered worldwide from Panama in 5 days via FedEx or DHL. Free shipping on orders over $70.
