Collection: Finca Lérida
Finca Lérida is one of Panama's most storied coffee estates, founded in the 1920s when Norwegian engineer Tollef Bache Mönniche retired to Boquete and planted his first coffee trees on a property named after the city of Lérida in Spain. The estate sits at 1,600 to 2,000 meters above sea level in the Alto Quiel and Jaramillo areas of Boquete, within a protected cloud forest reserve bordering La Amistad National Park. Today managed by the Chiari family, Finca Lérida is a woman-owned business and an active member of the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama, with accolades including Best Coffee in the World at the 2003 SCAA competition in Boston. The farm grows Catuai, Geisha, Pacamara, and Typica varietals, processed as washed, natural, and honey. It also operates as an eco-tourism hotel, where visitors can tour the farm and experience the cloud forest firsthand.
