Panama Geisha Coffee — The World's Most Celebrated Cup

No coffee on earth has earned the reputation that Panama Geisha has. Born in the volcanic highlands of Boquete, Chiriquí — at elevations above 1,500 meters — this legendary variety set the all-time world record when an Elida Estate Geisha from the Lamastus Family sold for $13,518 per kilogram at private auction, the highest price ever paid for coffee. Elida's Geisha also earned a near-perfect 98 points on CoffeeReview.com — the first time that score was ever awarded — and Panama Geishas consistently score above 90 points with the world's most demanding tasters.

The reason is simple: nothing tastes like it. Luminous notes of jasmine, bergamot, peach, and tropical fruit, with a tea-like delicacy and a finish that lingers beautifully. First-time drinkers often describe it as "the coffee that doesn't taste like coffee" — in the best possible way.

Boquete Coffee Traders sources Geisha directly from Panama's most respected estates — including Lamastus Family Estates (Elida), the record-breaking, most-decorated producer in Best of Panama history; Carmen Estate (a Best of Panama champion whose washed Geisha sold for $10,005 per kilogram at the 2023 auction, available in very limited quantities); Finca Lérida, Janson Family Coffee, Kotowa, Café Unido, Café Suarez, Garrido Specialty Coffee, Don Pepe Estate, and Gran Del Val. Across these producers, we currently offer 20 distinct Geisha products, spanning washed and natural processing, light to medium roasts, plus Nespresso-compatible capsules.
