Café Suarez — Panama Coffee Since 1900

Café Suarez is one of the oldest coffee-growing families in Panama, cultivating Arabica coffee in the Alto Quiel highlands of Boquete since 1900 — over 120 years of family expertise across four and five generations.

The Suarez Family Story

The story begins with Domingo Suadi, who arrived from the Middle East and planted the family's first 70,000 coffee trees on 70 hectares of volcanic soil in a sub-region widely regarded as one of the finest coffee-growing zones in the world. Today, his descendants continue the tradition alongside members of the indigenous Ngöbe community, supporting around one hundred local families.

Traditional Processing in Alto Quiel

The beans are washed with pure mountain water from the Alto Quiel highlands and sun-dried using traditional methods with controlled humidity — the same approach the family has used for over 100 years. The farm operates in a GMO-free organic environment on the slopes of Volcán Barú.

Their Standout Geisha

Their Geisha varietal is the standout, delivering bright citrus notes (lemon, orange, tangerine), floral jasmine aromas, and a smooth, refined acidity that showcases Alto Quiel's exceptional terroir.
