Nearly a Century of Passion
The Janson story begins in 1926, when Swedish pioneer Carl Axel Janson fell in love with the land of Volcán, Chiriquí. Decades later, his sons Ricardo, Carl, Peter, and Michael officially founded Janson Coffee in 1990 — honoring their father's lifelong dedication to quality. Today, Janson Coffee is one of Panama's most celebrated family farms, recognized by specialty coffee lovers worldwide.
Where the Coffee Grows
Grown on the slopes of the Tisingal and Barú volcanoes at 1,350–1,700 m.a.s.l. These 100% specialty grade Arabica beans develop exceptional sweetness and complexity thanks to rich volcanic soil, cool mountain temperatures, and the unique microclimate of the Talamanca mountain range — adjacent to the UNESCO World Heritage La Amistad International Park.
Grown in Harmony with Nature
Janson operates with deep commitment to sustainability. No pesticides, no herbicides — soil health is maintained using natural enzyme microorganisms. Plantations are surrounded by native forest. 400 solar panels power the entire farm operation. Workers are at the heart of the Janson philosophy — the farm provides housing, healthcare, education funding, and daycare for workers' families.
Flavor Profile
Medium roast with smooth, full body and refined profile: notes of peach, caramel, and gentle sweetness with a clean, satisfying finish. Versatile across espresso, French press, pour-over, or drip.
