Perfect if you want the everyday Boquete specialty coffee that rewards both the curious and the routine — a century of farming distilled into one balanced cup.
A Century of Boquete Coffee in Every Cup
The Gran Del Val story begins in 1880, when French engineer Joseph De Dianous arrived in Panama to work on the French Canal Company. In 1914, his son Gabriel purchased land in Bajo Mono, Boquete, founding Farm Gladys — named in honor of his beloved wife. More than a century later, the De Dianous-Fernández family — now in its fourth generation — is still farming those same highlands, still committed to the same standard of excellence that has made Gran Del Val one of the most respected coffee names in all of Panama.
The Three-Variety Blend
The House Blend is the expression of everything the farm has learned in over 100 years — a masterfully crafted combination of three of Boquete's finest Arabica varieties:
- Caturra — bright citrus acidity and a clean, lively character
- Catuai — sweetness, body, and smooth, balanced structure
- Typica — the heritage variety that put Panamanian coffee on the world map, adding depth, elegance, and a lingering chocolate-caramel finish
Where the Coffee Grows
Grown in Bajo Mono at over 1,300 meters above sea level, where rich volcanic black soil, cool mountain mist, natural water springs, and dense native forest canopy create the exact conditions that have made Boquete one of the world's most celebrated coffee-growing regions.
Flavor Profile
The House Blend is designed to deliver the very best of Boquete in a single, harmonious cup. Tasting notes: chocolate, citrus, caramel — complex enough to reward the curious, approachable enough to enjoy every single morning. Medium body, balanced structure, clean finish.
Built on Sustainability
Gran Del Val's commitment to preserving the environment led them to build Panama's first ecological coffee processing plant in 1997, and to certify their farms under Rainforest Alliance standards. When you choose Gran Del Val, you choose a coffee that respects the land it comes from.
