The Garrido Family — Over Six Decades of Excellence
The Garrido family has been cultivating coffee in the highlands of Boquete since 1959, when founder Teodoro Garrido established the family's first farm on volcanic soil enriched with minerals from Volcan Baru. Today the family business is led by Teodoro's two daughters, Gissell and Liliana, along with their mother. Together they manage four estates — Cantera (El Palomar), Volcancito, Margarita, and Los Rosales — neighboring world-famous farms like Hacienda La Esmeralda and Elida Estate. Their Mama Cata Mokkita variety won 1st Place at the Best of Panama in both 2020 (91 points) and 2021 (92 points), and their Cantera Farm earned 3rd Place in the 2025 Varietal category with 92.25 points. Garrido coffee is highly sought after internationally and rarely available in North America.
Flavor Profile
The Farms Blend is predominantly Red Catuai with small percentages of Typica and Caturra — all washed processed using traditional methods with natural spring water. The cherries are sourced from family farms across three distinct Boquete micro-regions, each contributing unique terroir characteristics to the final blend. Expect a sweet, well-balanced cup with dark chocolate notes, subtle floral aromas, medium citric acidity, and a full, satisfying body. A refined everyday coffee that reflects over six decades of Garrido family craftsmanship.
