Gran Del Val House Blend — A Century of Boquete Coffee in Every Cup
Some coffees are made from a single variety. This one is made from a legacy.
The Gran Del Val story begins in 1880, when French engineer Joseph De Dianous arrived in Panama to work on the Canal. In 1914, his son Gabriel purchased land in Bajo Mono, Boquete, founding Farm Gladys — named in honor of his beloved wife. More than a century later, that same family — now in its third generation — is still farming those same highlands, still committed to the same standard of excellence that has made Gran Del Val one of the most respected coffee names in all of Panama.
The House Blend is the expression of everything that farm has learned in over 100 years. A masterfully crafted combination of three of Boquete's finest Arabica varieties — Caturra, Catuai, and Typica — grown in the Bajo Mono region at over 1,300 meters above sea level, where rich volcanic black soil, cool mountain mist, and natural water springs create conditions that produce coffee of extraordinary character.
What Does It Taste Like?
The House Blend is designed to deliver the very best of Boquete in a single, harmonious cup. Caturra brings bright citrus acidity and a clean, lively character. Catuai contributes sweetness, body, and a smooth, balanced structure. Typica — the heritage variety that put Panamanian coffee on the world map — adds depth, elegance, and a lingering finish of chocolate and caramel. Together they create a cup that is rich with notes of chocolate, citrus, and caramel — complex enough to reward the curious, approachable enough to enjoy every single morning.
A Farm Built on Sustainability
Gran Del Val's commitment to preserving the environment led them to build the first ecological coffee processing plant in the region in 1997, and to certify their farms under Rainforest Alliance standards. When you choose Gran Del Val, you are choosing a coffee that respects the land it comes from.
Brewing
The House Blend performs beautifully across all brewing methods — drip, French press, Chemex, pour over, or espresso. Its balanced structure and medium body make it the perfect everyday coffee — rich and rewarding from the very first sip.
